I was spending a dinner with family friends, and the children were given the option to eat outside. It was dark outside and one of the girls frowned so I told her I could leave lights outside. She quickly responded she wasn’t afraid of the dark. When I asked her why she was upset she quickly said, “Kony.” Yes that’s right, that one week hype months ago still haunts this poor girl.

Don’t Let Me Bore You

I wasn’t going to write one of these sappy new years resolutions until I read a study that suggests that people who write down their goals are 80% more likely to achieve those goals. I don’t know if that statistic has any ground or it’s just that people who don’t write down their goals forget whatever it was they were trying to do. Anyway on the 2013, but first this year in review.

To be honest it has been harder then I allow myself to believe. I’ve never shared this with anyone, so why not you guys, despite me not knowing most of you. It’s funny how open people can be with total strangers. The end of my Senior year in high-school was brief and great. I had the great grades, despite colleges not being able to see them. My summer was eventful with work and socially, and I always feel best when my body is healthy and active, which was what half my time during the summer was spent doing. Then my school year began. Community school was not my first choice and my parents financials were worse than they lead me to believe, during my application process. Despite all this, I still have been enjoying my time at school. My classes have been going well and I don’t find the work to be difficult. Socially it sucks. I’ve befriended a few of my peers but find it difficult. These past few weeks leading to the end of the year, I have found myself going to the gym less and feel like I am not prepared enough for a competitive spring season. Also, for the first time ever it’s been kind of lonely. Now I sound like one of those people who don’t shut up about their problems. I had an odd relationship with a girl for a little over a month which I actually ended, which was weird in itself because I never broke up with someone, but after that I never filled that free time with anything. I have also been stressed about my future. I feel like I’m behind on success. Sure I’m a student but I’m more than that. I want to start something career wise.

So for my new years resolution I have several things on my list and hey I have an 80% chance of achieving all of them.

One: Fill up my free time both socially and productively

Two: Find my love for crew and my motivation

Three: Develop further as a man

Four: Learn how to play an instrument (probably the saxophone)

Five: Get into Rutgers Business School as a more improved person

The person I like and why: I wish I liked someone enough to go for it but I can honestly say I don’t. There are some feelings here and there for certain girls, like one in my English class.

Five things that irritate me about the opposite sex:

1: Not being interesting (when I meet an interesting girl I can get pretty nervous)

2: Playing stupid (although sometimes its hard to tell if their trying or not)

3: Large ego (this is in here because the last girl I talked to had this)

4: Can’t carry a conversation about anything other than her sole interest

5: Not being reasonable (I’m not saying this applies to all girls but some make it seem as though men revolve around them)

Things I like and dislike about the way I look:

Like: How I look naked (just all of that)

Dislike: my skin (i’ll outgrow it) and my height

Something I regret: I’ll give you one that happened today. Should have asked a girl out in my English class. O well, plenty of fish in the sea.
